Angelique Kerber dominates the statistics in Stuttgart
Stuttgart. Taking a look at the player superlatives at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, the name that appears most of all is that of Angelique Kerber, the Porsche Brand Ambassador. The two-time tournament winner and the time-honoured event in the Porsche Arena enjoy a close bond.The youngest: This ranking is headed by the American Coco Gauff. The world No. 15 celebrated her 18th birthday on 13 March. Porsche Talent Team’s Nastasja Schunk is only a few months older.
The tallest: Karolina Pliskova, the 2018 Stuttgart winner, is 1.86 metres tall.
The smallest: Eva Lys measures 1.65 metres and is therefore the smallest player.
Most Grand Slam wins: This is where the Porsche Brand Ambassador tops the tree. Having won the titles at the Australian Open and the US Open in 2016 as well as Wimbledon in 2018, the German is the player at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix with the most Grand Slam wins. She is followed by Petra Kvitova, the Wimbledon champion in 2011 and 2014. Three other players have also won Grand Slams – Iga Swiatek (French Open 2020), Emma Raducanu (US Open 2021) and Bianca Andreescu (US Open 2019).
Most appearances at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix: This is another statistic that is headed by Angelique Kerber. The 34-year-old Porsche Team Germany member is competing for the 13th time at the long-standing Stuttgart tournament.
Most successes at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix: Angelique Kerber also leads the way here. The Porsche Brand Ambassador was victorious in 2015 and 2016. Other winners in the field are Petra Kvitova (2019), Katarina Pliskova (2018) and Laura Siegemund (2017).
Most career WTA wins: Petra Kvitova’s record includes 28 singles titles.
Most WTA wins this year: The world No. 1 Iga Swiatek has chalked up three wins in 2022 having won Doha, Indian Wells and Miami in succession. Paula Badosa (Sydney) and Anett Kontaveit (St. Petersburg) have also been successful in 2022.
Highest career prize money: Petra Kvitova has amassed 33,794,842 dollars followed by Angelique Kerber on 31,540,949 dollars.
Most prize money this year: The Pole Iga Swiatek, who is currently on a 19-match winning streak (including the Billie Jean King Cup) has already secured herself 3,564,410 dollars prize money in 2022.
Most weeks at world No. 1: Angelique Kerber leads with a total of 34 weeks as the WTA world No.1. She is followed by Karolina Pliskova who was top for eight weeks. The new world No. 1 Iga Swiatek has been the Tour’s best singles player for the past two weeks.
The nation with the most singles players: Germany leads the way here with six players in the singles main draw. There are players from a total of 19 nations competing at this year’s tournament.
The total number of singles and doubles players: A total of 49 players are in action at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
