Singapore. Since the first Porsche Club formed in 1952, passion for the iconic German sports car brand has brought people together worldwide. Seventy years on, Porsche Clubs across the South East Asian region honour this milestone with a record-breaking car formation in Singapore on 1 October 2022.

204 Porsche sports cars lined up in a neat formation to break the record for the largest car formation in Singapore, verified by officials from the Singapore Book of Records. In addition to the spectacular lineup of cars, participants also had the special opportunity to interact with FIA World Endurance Champion and Porsche brand ambassador, Mark Webber.

Porsche Clubs: A shared passion worldwide
In May 1952, only two years after Porsche delivered its first car to a customer in Germany, a passion project driven by a small group of enthusiasts culminated in what is now the Porsche Club Westfalen. Since then, Porsche Clubs have become an international success story, with some 240,000 members in more than 700 Porsche Clubs across 86 countries.

As autonomous and independent organisations centred around passion for the brand, Porsche Clubs offer members access to drives, motorsport events, technical sessions and social events, for example with the first-ever Porsche drive-in cinema at Marina Bay Sands for Sportscar Together Day earlier this year.

“Porsche owners go beyond purchasing the sports car of their dreams. Owning a Porsche embodies sportiness, heritage, and an avenue to express passion for the brand with a like-minded community. We are thrilled that Porsche Clubs in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Philippines are coming together for a celebration of epic proportions, an incredible expression of what Porsche means to them. This truly reflects this year’s celebratory theme – ‘Enduring Passion’,” said Matthias Menner, Specialist Porsche Global Community Management.

A thriving Porsche community in South East Asia
In true Porsche spirit, Porsche Clubs in the South East Asian region turned out in force, bright and early on a Saturday morning, for the 70th anniversary celebrations in Singapore. Porsche Club members from Singapore also volunteered to ferry fellow members from Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam to the event venue – showcasing our warm Singaporean hospitality and a vibrant nation with a thriving Porsche community.

A diverse range of Porsche models were present - both current and classic – as the overall bloc was certified as the largest Porsche car formation ever assembled in the Lion City. Once the event was concluded, regional Porsche Club Executive Committee members continued on to a group lunch, where potential regional-scale events were debated in an enthusiastic fashion.

For 70 years and beyond, Porsche Clubs all over the world aim to continue to build a legacy for future generations, cultivating a second home for friends of the brand. With a shared passion for all things Porsche, members can continue to look forward to celebrating these connections formed with like-minded enthusiasts.
